SuperPanther eTopas 600
SuperPanther's eTopas 600, built by Steyr Automotive in Austria and shown at IAA 2026: 621 kWh LFP battery from CATL, 394 kW continuous and 692 kW peak (535 and 941 hp), up to 560 km in real-world tests, 20 to 80 % in about 38 minutes on two CCS2 chargers, 10.8 t empty. About 100 trucks are to reach customers by the end of 2026, per the maker.
Photo: SuperPantherWhat we make of it
A Chinese-designed long-haul tractor built in Austria: SuperPanther has its eTopas 600 assembled by Steyr Automotive in Steyr, on a 621 kWh LFP pack from CATL. It is the truck this site opens on, because it is the one a Belgian fleet can be quoted on today at a price under the European flagships.
| Battery capacityLFP cells from CATL. SuperPanther publishes this as the capacity; no separate net figure is given. | 621 kWh | official |
|---|---|---|
| Range, claimedSuperPanther’s figure for one charge. | 500 km | official |
| Range, loadedDriven, not claimed: up to about 600 km was reported in real-world testing without fully emptying the battery, which is the higher figure of the two and the one with conditions attached. | 560 km | reported |
| Range we would plan againstWhat we would schedule against year-round: winter, traffic and an arrival reserve included. | 420–470 km | our estimate |
| Power394 kW continuous, 692 kW peak, converted to horsepower. | 536–941 hp | official |
| Charging power, mostNot megawatt charging: two CCS2 plugs in parallel, 660 kW together. One CCS2 plug alone takes up to 400 kW. An MCS version has been announced but is not what is delivered today. | 660 kW | official |
| Charge 20 to 80 %20 to 80 % on two CCS2 chargers at once. On one charger it takes about twice as long. | 38 min | official |
| Price, indicativeOur working assumption for a truck assembled in Austria without a published European price. SuperPanther publishes none; a quote is the only firm figure. | €220 000 | our estimate |
official published by the maker · reported named trade press · our estimate ours, and said so
The range. Two figures, and they point the same way: 500 km is what SuperPanther claims on one charge, and about 600 km is what was driven in testing without emptying the pack. We plan against 420 to 470 km in Belgian conditions, which is the number the business case on this site uses.
The charging. The eTopas charges on ordinary CCS2, not on megawatt hardware: two plugs at once give 660 kW and 20 to 80 % in under 40 minutes. That matters for a depot — it is the charger you can already buy.
The cost. The price is the argument. At an assumed €220k the eTopas undercuts the European flagships by €80k to €100k, which is what the calculators on this site let you test against your own kilometres, your own electricity price and your own tolls.
