Windrose E700
The E700 (R700 in the US), Windrose's long-nosed tractor: 705 kWh LFP battery, up to 1,045 kW, 670 km for the European version, charging at up to 870 kW on MCS, €198,000 list price, orders taken for delivery in the second half of 2026. The open question the report leaves is whether it meets the EU turning circle.
Photo: Windrose TechnologyWhat we make of it
A Class 8 electric tractor from the Belgian-Chinese manufacturer Windrose, homologated for the US, the EU and China — an unusually broad approval for a young company. It is the price reference on this site: markedly cheaper than the established European makes, with a large battery and high output, but without the dealer and service network that a European fleet takes for granted.
| Battery capacityReported pack capacity on an 800 V architecture with dual-inlet megawatt charging. Windrose has not published a separate net figure. | 729 kWh | reported |
|---|---|---|
| Range, claimedSome sources quote up to 960 km under ideal conditions. We do not use that figure — it is not a duty a Belgian fleet will ever see. | 700 km | reported |
| Range, loaded420 miles fully loaded at 98 000 lb gross, converted. Other US coverage quotes about 640 km without stating the load. We use the figure that names its conditions. | 676 km | reported |

| PowerSources disagree. An EV specification database reports 1040 hp; Forbes and other US coverage report 1400 hp. Windrose does not publish a continuous rating, so we show the full reported spread rather than pick one. | 1 040–1 400 hp | reported |

| Price, indicativeEuropean list price on Windrose's own order page, excluding local taxes. US reporting quotes $250 000 to $300 000, but that is the American price and carries import tariffs of up to 70% — it does not apply here. This confirms the EUR 198 000 the business case on this site has used all along. | €198 000 | official |

The range. Windrose states its range against a stated load — 420 miles at 98 000 lb — which is more honest than most headline figures and lands at about 676 km. The 960 km number that circulates is an ideal-conditions figure and is not useful for planning. Our realistic band is the same 500–550 km the rest of this site has always used.
The charging. The R700 runs an 800 V architecture with dual-inlet megawatt charging, so it is built for fast top-ups. Windrose has not published a maximum charging power or a 20-to-80% time, so we do not quote one. For a depot-based Belgian duty this matters less than it sounds: the truck charges overnight.
The cost. This is the cheap truck, and now firmly so: Windrose lists EUR 198 000 for Europe on its own order page, excluding local taxes. Do not be misled by the $250 000 to $300 000 that US coverage quotes — that is the American price with import tariffs of up to 70% baked in, and it does not apply to a Belgian buyer. Against an indicative EUR 260 000 to 320 000 for the MAN eTGX, the gap is real and large, and it is what the business case on this site turns on.
