Mercedes-Benz eActros Lowliner
Mercedes-Benz's electric Lowliner, a 4x2 tractor with a low fifth wheel for mega trailers with up to 3 metres of inside height, shown to the public for the first time in Hanover: 414 or 621 kWh, about 500 km with the larger battery, a payload of about 24 or 21 tonnes. Orders open in the third quarter of 2026 and production starts in the second quarter of 2027. What it costs to run against a diesel Lowliner cannot be worked out yet: Daimler has published no price. And until megawatt charging comes, in the second half of 2027, it charges at 400 kW at most: 10 to 80 % takes about 46 minutes with the small battery and 70 with the large one.

| Fifth wheelSo a mega trailer stays within the legal overall height with up to 3 m of inside height; Daimler publishes no height in millimetres. electrive (2 June 2026) writes that Lowliners generally have a 950 mm fifth-wheel height, without giving it as a figure for this truck | Low: the same fifth-wheel height and ground clearance as comparable diesel trucks | ↗ ↗ |

Battery 4 / 9
| Battery capacity, installed (gross)Two or three LFP packs of 207 kWh each: 414 kWh in the eActros 400 Lowliner, 621 kWh in the eActros 600 Lowliner. Nominal capacity of a new battery | 414 / 621 kWh | ↗ ↗ |

Range and energy 3 / 8
| Range, as claimedeActros 600 Lowliner (621 kWh), 'at full payload'; no figure for the eActros 400 Lowliner. Daimler adds that tyres and trailer matter more for a Lowliner's range than for a standard tractor's, and that lighter volume loads can give more | 500 km | ↗ ↗ |
|---|---|---|
| Range, favourable conditionsEstimate from Mercedes-Benz Trucks' range calculator: eActros 600 Lowliner with a mega trailer, about 10 % load, long-haul driving, 20 or 30 °C. At full load the calculator gives 460 to 520 km between −10 °C and 40 °C (510 km long-haul at 20 °C). For the eActros 400 Lowliner: 290 to 340 km at full load and up to 490 km at 10 % load. Daimler bases the calculator on simulations and real driving tests; it is not a measured range | 720 km | ↗ |
| Range, real-world | not published | |
| Range test conditionDaimler's footnote to the figure. The release text itself says 'at full payload'; the June announcement put it as about the same as the eActros 600's 500 km at 40 t | Measured by Daimler with a 4x2 tractor at 40 t, 20 °C outside, long-haul driving, battery preconditioned; may differ from the official EU calculation | ↗ |
| Energy consumptionNot published. 621 kWh over 500 km works out at about 1.2 kWh/km — a sum, not a Daimler figure | not published | |
| Test fleet mileage | not published | |
| Drag coefficient (Cd) | not published | |
| Regenerative braking, peakNot published in kW. The June announcement names five recuperation levels and one-pedal driving | not published |
Charging 3 / 6
| DC charge portsMCS charging becomes available in the second half of 2027 | CCS2 as standard; an extra MCS socket as an option, both on the left-hand side | ↗ ↗ |
|---|---|---|
| Max DC charge powerOn MCS, eActros 600 Lowliner, from the second half of 2027; the eActros 400 Lowliner takes up to 700 kW. On CCS2, from the start: 400 kW | 1000 kW | ↗ |
| Charge time 20–80 %Daimler gives 10–80 %, not 20–80 %: on CCS2 at 400 kW about 46 minutes (two packs) or 70 minutes (three), measured to ISO/SAE 12906 at a standard DC fast charger with 500 A; on MCS, from the second half of 2027, about 27 minutes at 700 kW (two packs) or 29 minutes at 1,000 kW (three) | not published | |
| Megawatt Charging System (MCS)The June announcement said only 'later'. At the show, Daimler Truck and Milence demonstrate megawatt charging in Hall 14/15 | Yes, as an option from the second half of 2027: up to 700 kW (two packs) or 1,000 kW (three) | ↗ ↗ ↗ |
